Denise Henning, MSN, CNM
President

Denise Henning, CNM, MSM earned her MSN in 1997 from the University of Florida and is an avid Gator. She also holds a BA in Professional Management. Her first exposure to the Midwifery Business Network (SDN) was after winning a Leadership Award from the ACNM Foundation to attend the Midwifery Business Institute in 2005. She is the Chapter Chair of SW Florida Gulfcoast Chapter, a member of the Business Section, and is ACNM's representative to the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission. Denise is currently the Service Line Leader for Women’s Health at Collier Health Services in Immokalee, FL, serving a largely Latina population. Her previous position was as the Director of Clinical Operations for Women’s Health at Family Health Centers, a FQHC in Fort Myers, FL. While at FHC, she implemented the largest Centering Pregnancy program in the country.

Joan Slager, CNM,MSN,CPC,FACNM

Joan Slager graduated from the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing in 1991 and completed her Master of Science from Case Western University in 1993. She graduated from Oakland University in Rochester, MI with a Doctor in Nursing Practice in Dec. 2008. In 1993, she helped establish Bronson Women's Service in Kalamazoo, MI, which is now Michigan's largest midwifery service. Ms. Slager became the practice director in 1995. Ms Slager has been a faculty member of the Midwifery Business Institute and is best known as the ACNM's billing and coding expert. She is a Certified Professional Coder and has been a contributing editor and author to the 2nd and 3rd editions of the ACNM puclication: Getting Paid:Billing,Coding, and Payment for Midwifery Services. She was the Editor for the third edition of the Midwifery Business Network publication: Administrative Manual for Nurse-Midwifery Practices. Her book, Business Concepts for Health Care Providers, was published in 2004. Joan Slager served two terms as Chair of the Business Section of the Division of Standards and Practice and is the current chair of the DOSP. She has lectured extensively on billing and coding and other business topics.

Tonia Moore-Davis, CNM, MSN

Tonia is the Clinical Practice Manager for the Nurse-Midwifery Faculty Practices at Vanderbilt Univeersity School of Nursing. She earned her BSN from Johns Hopkins in 2001 and her MSN in 2002 from the University of Pennsylvania. Tonia found herself in the role of "Service Director" after only three years of clinical practice. She oversees two outpatient sites (including one FQHC)and serves on multiple inpatient care committees at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Her practice prides itself on annual participation in the ACNM Benchmarking project and ongoing quality improvement. Tonia is currently preparing to pursue her PhD in Nursing, focusing in health systems management and quality care among nurse-midwifery practices.
