Chris Kocis, CNM, DNP
President

Chris earned her BSN from Hartwick College in 1978, her MS from Stony Brook in 1998 and most recently her DNP from Stony Brook in 2009. Chris has served on the MBN Board and is currently the President of Long Island Midwives, Inc. She practices full scope midwifery at Stony Brook University Medical Center where she currently serves as Director of the Midwifery Division in the Department of OB/GYN.

Shannon Maaske, CNM, MSN
Vice President

Shannon graduated from the University of Iowa school of Nursing and the University of Minnesota Nurse-Midwifery program. She is the former Director of Midwifery at Family Health Centers in Fort Myers, FL, a 6 midwife, 1300 births/year FQHC practice. She currently works for the Duke University midwifery practice.

Paulette Schalck, CNM
Treasurer

Paulette Schalk lives in Kentucky and works in Cincinatti. She served in the Air Force.

Tonia Moore-Davis, CNM, MSN
Secretary

Tonia is the Clinical Practice Manager for the Nurse-Midwifery Faculty Practices at Vanderbilt Univeersity School of Nursing. She earned her BSN from Johns Hopkins in 2001 and her MSN in 2002 from the University of Pennsylvania. Tonia found herself in the role of "Service Director" after only three years of clinical practice. Her practice prides itself on annual participation in the ACNM Benchmarking project and ongoing quality improvement. Tonia is currently pursuing her PhD in Nursing, focusing in health systems management and quality care among nurse-midwifery practices.

Denise Henning, MSN, CNM
President ex-officio

Denise Henning, CNM earned her MSN from the University of Florida and also holds a BA in Professional Management. She won an ACNM Foundation Leadership Award to attend the Midwifery Business Institute in 2005. She serves as ACNM's representative to the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission. She is a member of the Business section and is a former Chapter Chair. Denise is the Clinical Director for Women’s Health at Collier Health Services, a FQHC in Immokalee, FL. While at Family Health Centers in Fort Myers, she implemented the largest CenteringPregnancy program in the country.

Michelle Grandy, CNM, MSN
ACNM Liason

Michelle is the newly elected Region VI rep and the ACNM board liason to MBN. She is Chair of the Midwives in Medical Education caucus.
